JUST AS FLOWERS OPEN UP AND BEAR FRUIT,
JUST AS THE MOON APPEARS AND INVARIABLY GROWS FULL,
JUST AS A LAMP BECOMES BRIGHTER WHEN OIL IS ADDED,
and
JUST AS PLANTS AND TREES FLOURISH WITH RAIN,
So
WILL HUMAN BEINGS NEVER FAIL TO PROSPER WHEN THEY MAKE GOOD CAUSES.

TO POSSESS BOTH WISDOM AND COMPASSION IS THE HEART
Of our human revolution. If you have wisdom alone and lack compassion, it will be a cold, perverse wisdom. If you have compassion alone and lack wisdom, you cannot give happiness to others. You are even likely to lead them in the wrong direction, and you won’t be able to achieve your own happiness.

Daily Wisdom

From the Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, April 20, 2015

From the time that I was born until today, I have never known a moment’s ease; I have thought only of propagating the diamoku of the Lotus Sutra. I do not know how long I or anyone else may live, but without fail, I will be with you at the time of your death and guide you from this life to the next.

GM —————————–” FAITH AND HESITATION “———————–

PEOPLE try to defend themselves in order to justify their actions. While this may be understandable, a leader should not hesitate in pointing out where his juniors need to improve.

THIS kind of leader has mercy. When you frankly point out the problem spots in your members’ practice, they can change their destiny and rid their lives of past negative causes. Be straight forward and tell them what you’re really thinking.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
WHEN it comes to faith, hesitant or vague guidance will not help your members. The larger our organization grows, the more important direct, clear-cut guidance will become. Leaders must transmit to their members the tradition of strict guidance in faith, observed since the days of President Makiguchi and President Toda.
TO advance joyfully with an open heart, you must chant Daimoku. When you chant sincerely, everything will open up for you. After giving someone strict guidance, chant for him: “Please, Gohonzon, he’s got to understand!” When your members have problems, chant that they will solve them. This is the way leaders should practice.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

PRACTICE with absolute conviction, but use common sense when you talk to your members. When you must caution them, do so without hesitation, and when they need your support, encourage them right away. You don’t need to do anything special. Just be yourself and talk with them in a way that’s natural to you. If someone still quits, then it’s his fault and not yours.
